Clive Barker’s ‘Nightbreed’, based on his 1988 novella ‘Cabal’, has a turbulent history and was, in the version initially released by the studio, neither well received nor a commercial success but managed to gain a cult following never the less. With ‘The Cabal Cut’, composed by Russell Cherrington from the release DVD and two extended cut versions, the ‘Nightbreed’ is now what it should have been from the beginning. The now 155 minutes long version was first shown at North Carolina’s Mad Monster Party this year and will have its German Premiere during the Weekend of Horrors convention in Bottrop, Germany, in November.
Russell Cherrington himself will be present and giving an introduction to ‘Nightbreed: The Cabal Cut’ on Friday, November 2, at 6:30pm at the Saalbau in Bottrop, prior to the screening of the film. Doug Bradley, who starrs as Dirk Lylesberg in ‘Nightbreed’ is scheduled to be present for the screening and during convention hours on all three days. Weekend of Horrors has also announced actors Hugh Ross who plays Narcisse, Simon Bamford who plays the role of Ohnaka and Nicholas Vince who starrs as Kinski will be in attendence during the screening on Friday. ‘Nightbreed’ posters will also be available.
